Recent Observations of LM.C
(source)
please remember that all of this is just fan observations and not confirmed facts. The only fact is that LM.C are no longer on Pony Canyon but GALACTIC RECORDS instead. If you have any of your own observations feel free to share them! If you have any worried about LM.C, feel free to talk about them here too.

mad-coffeeholic wrote:I keep seeing tweets from people talking about japanese fans saying bad things about LM.C..
Can anyone tell me what’s going on? Or did i just read wrong?
mayyatan wrote:This is actually quite complicated. All of these 5 reasons are from my observations.
1. When LM.C starts, some of the fans of PIERROT & Aiji were shocked that Aiji was working with maya (who was a completely mysterious guy at that time), and the whole concept of LM.C was totally out of their mind. They never thought that Aiji would made music that is so bright/poppy. And maya was compared to Kirito by the fans secretly, which cause so much hate about him since the first day of LM.C.
2. maya were found that he posted things on his twitter or blog that is connected or similar to Rina from SCANDAL. It means they are, probably, in love. Since maya was doing that in very public way using his official account, some fans of LM.C were so angry that he’s such a incautious person that he couldn’t separate his private life from LM.C. Some of the fans found this disrespectful and left the LM.C fandom. This is probably one of the reason maya stopped tweeting and blogging very much nowadays.
3. Recently the whole LM.C thing has changed gradually. The release speed of their works are much slower (from a few singles a year to 1 or 2 a year), their music has changed (from normal band sound to a more electronic, techno sound), maya’s image has became more adult-like, and because of the reason no.2 above, LM.C is losing their fans. Empty seats or spaces in their lives are often reported by the fans recently. They’re slowly, gradually going down.
4. maya and Aiji are getting old. No matter how young they sound or they look, they are becoming old for being such a “poppy” band - at least in the mind of the Japanese fans. Some clues has shown that Aiji is likely preparing for making living without LM.C - like producing music for some girl idols (just like Nakata Yasutaka producing music for KPP) in Akibahara and he called it as a “job” on twitter.
5. If you have looked at the booklets of My Favorite Monster carefully enough, you can found that they’re not being managed by Pony Canyon anymore. They are now under a company called GALACTIC RECORDS, which also releases their products with Pony Canyon working as a selling agent. GALACTIC RECORDS is probably a company opened by LM.C themselves I guess (I don’t sure about this). If it’s really their company, they’re now much more independent than before and having freedom to choose their job and making music more close to their interests. On the other side, this could mean that LM.C may lost some of the financial support from Pony Canyon (you can see My Favorite Monster has a lower budget PV than the ones they have before).
I’ve been reading the Tanuki BBS for a years or two, and I must say that most of the negative things are completely bullshit if you don’t give a damn to their private life. Remember this only one thing - LM.C NEEDS our support. Don’t let the negative atmosphere fools you. Once LM.C is still active, we don’t need to think negatively about them based on some rumors and guessings. Hope this post is not too long and I’m sorry if I have any mistakes and typos.
dolce-vitter-effect wrote:God I don’t even want to THINK about the day when LM.C wont exist anymore. The thought makes my heart break and makes me want to cry. But not matter what I’ll always support whatever they do.
But let’s keep supporting them even after that day comes. Every moment we get with LM.C existing is totally precious and I’ll do my best to give back some of the happiness they’ve given me
haha oh dear lord ignore me this post made me really emotional.
but yeah, always take Tanuki ‘information’ with a grain of salt. most of it is total bullshit. And even if it is true, what does it matter? LM.C are human, and they deserve to live their life however they see fit, all we can do it be happy for them~
hika88chan wrote:So much agreeing with Kei.
I’ll keep on supporting them no matter what they do.
Also, thank you so much for clarifying all this! This is very interesting!
The amount of bullshit in the Japanese fandom is fightening O_O
We complain about overseas fans being sometimes disrespectful but the Japanese fans are even more so.
They got so much hate according to these explanations, they need us even more. So that’s why we miss maya so much….. he must be so confused… I don’t really get how the Japanese fans treat their idols: it’s direspectful to have a private life but it’s totally okay to deprive your idol from his private life? WTF.
Aiji don’t desserve all this hate too. He’s a sweet guy, and he had the courage to leave his band. I don’t know exactly what happened, but it’s also HIS life.
3. People don’t like when music changes. But also, people don’t like when the music is always the same… yeah.
4. Aiji is very clever to cover himself. He probably seen their best time is behind them. It doesn’t mean LM.C will end soon, many other musicians do this. I hope they will keep on making music together for a long time, I don’t know how I would react to a disband OTL
I hope maybe now they’re more independant, it’s going to be great again and they will get more fans, and these days they are just going through a rough patch.
5. Haven’t received mine but as soon as we (some friends and me) seen “Galactic records” on the PV we were like “YEAH it’s not PC anymore” and… THIS SOUNDS SO MAYA. Galaxy, sky, stars, cosmic stuff and all… That would explain why there was so much time without any release (except the B-Side Best)
I think this is the best thing they did lately because PC has too much stranglehold on their works. We can feel this even as overseas fans. Also, see the catalog numbers, My Favorite Monster has the very firsts.
But it’s reaaaaally hard to do this, because of their fans loss and the money it needs. THEY NEED US OKAY. LET’S SUPPORT THEM.
For the reason above, I guess there will be no World Tour soon (a WT is reaaaaally hard to plan and expensive). We need to wait a little longer but let’s not leave them, just support them and wait for them to come back as soon as they can. I’m sure they want to see us again!
About that Tanuki thing… I believe it’s mostly bullshit because from one post to another there are contradictions. Some of them just look like teen fanfiction… I don’t give a fuck about it, just a little curious.
I’m sorry for my shitty English too
mad-coffeeholic wrote:My god.
These japanese fans are really hard on their idols.
Geez what’s with that kind of thinking.
Anyway thank you guys for clearing this up. My love for LM.C just grew much much more stronger now.
I can’t even imagine them disbanding either. I just can’t..
Thank you all, i never thought anyone would take me seriously with that post.
And i’m sorry if this made anyone upset.
I was just really worried i had to ask.
Re: Recent Observations of LM.C
EH?! I had literally no idea any of this was happening...
This might just be me, but B-SIDE BEST nor My Favorite Monster are on iTunes yet (MFM I understand because Double Dragon took about 2 weeks), would that have anything to do with this?
How could they be so harsh to them...I think it's the same for other bands too. What even goes through their heads?! I don't understand at all!
And it's best to assume that everything on Tanuki (this goes for any band) is false. Even if some things are true it won't matter to anyone.
I don't even want to think about a disbandment, my life would fall apart...

Re: Recent Observations of LM.C
First of all, it is really interesting to read the thoughts of other fans about this topic!
For me it is really not interesting how maya and Aiji are in their private lifes. I mean, we're talking about maya and Aiji and not about Yamazaki Masahito and Mizui Shinji! There is a reason why they have stage names. They create a picture of themselves and that's okay. Everybody creates a picture of himself in different situations. I am totally different when I'm at university or at VK events, too. I even wouldn't mind if maya or Aiji have a girlfriend or a wife or maybe a child. Who cares? Let's be a bit realistic: We are "just" fans!
It is legitimate when people are not longer listening to bands if they don't longer like the music. But they don't have to show this to the band, I think.
By the way I think that it is a big and a good step that LM.C is no longer at PC. If they have an own record label it would be better, because they get more money for themselves and not for bosses of record labels who do just a minimal work of a CD and of course there's nobody who can limit their influence on their music. And if it's true that "Galactic Records" is their own record label it's just the beginning of a new time and not the end (who would create a record label and stop doing music a few months later?)
I love LM.C more than I loved a band before and I'm kinda shocked when I realize that they became an important part of my life. Of course I'm fangirling and create my own picture of them and sometimes think that I would "know" them. But in my opinion it is really important not to lose the realtiy: They are human and have a private life and they do what they want and not what the fans want them to do. We all like maya and Aiji, but we're listening to LM.C because of the music and not only because of the human behind the music!
KEEP ON SUPPORTING LM.C!!
[I hope my opinion is understandable and that no one is pissed of because of it...]

Re: Recent Observations of LM.C
There's nothing to be pissed about.
I won't say the same as you though.
For me, some of their private life matter to me. SOME. Because, they took such an important part in my life that I almost consider them as friends/family. I'm conscious they're not, but I am always worried about them, about what can go through their heads. I'm not able to consider them just as stage people, I see them like I see my friends, my co-workers, my Internet followers... and they are very important to my heart.
This year, when we had barely no news, I was really worried, not because I haven't got any new music, but I wondered what happened, if they were sick, if they argued... whatever. I'm sorry, that sounds a little silly and I'm talking about my life and my opinion, it wasn't the subject.
But yeah, what they want to be private shoud be private. Especially their sexual life. Seriously.... Nobody wants a one-night stand to spread his "report".
I think this is the best moment for all of us to send them all our love and support. Via Twitter and fanmail (I don't know if now it will change?)
BTW, we made a mistake, it's "Galactica"

Re: Recent Observations of LM.C
It's totally ok to share your feelings about LM.C and stuff!!
I won't lie, for me their personal lives are very important, but that's because I want them to be happy. Because they've made me so happy and I want to make sure they're happy too. I mean, without the people behind the music, there would be no music, right? If they have a girlfriend or something, I would just want them so be happy, so it only matters to me in that way.
I mean of course I would absolutely love to know them in real life and be friends, but I understand it won't happen, haha.
I tried not to be worried when we had no news, but every time someone even mentioned the fact that something could be wrong I'd get really worried.
But I think Nika is right, it's good if Galactica Records is their own. It's makes me happy to think they have more freedom to express themselves in the way they want to. And who knows, maybe this means they'll sign other bands like them to the label and we'll get to hear even more wonderful music? haha.
Making a new label or moving to a new label is every expensive, so I think it's important right now that we show our support more than ever and continue to buy all their new music, ect. show them how much we love them and how we're always here to support them.
(i say buy their new music because I think maybe a lot of money from their past releases would still go to Pony Canyon? of course we should still get their older stuff since they'd still get a little, but yeh.)

Re: Recent Observations of LM.C
(I was wondering if I'm authorised to translate these post into Spanish, so the followers of my fanclub can be aware of this topic?)
Actually, I had no idea about this and read the post last night for first time. As I've been reading all the comments, I've felt more and more worried.
LM.C are very important in my life too, and I could not think about a possible disbanding, as I've been reading.
I've been reading comments in Twitter from some fans, writing to maya and Aiji stuff like 'your new music is pure shit'. I find it really disrespectful. Of course they need the support of their fans, and not such things, which some of them were really cruel.
No matter about their personal life. Truly fans will always support them and their music, truly fans would never get angry if any of them is in a relationship, it's a very childish and disrespectful behavior in my opinion.
Sure, their new single is different from Double Dragon and other works, in my opinion I still loving their music whatever they do, they have never disappointed me. But I've realized lots of people started writing bad stuff about their new music and a lot of them have been leaving LM.C gradually and stopped following their updates. It's very sad.

Re: Recent Observations of LM.C
I can't understand if "fans" say the new music is shit o.O I love the new music like the old music. I think it will be better if they make their own thing.
I love maya and aiji for their music and nothing can change it. Yes it's right that they want to go old, but in a german magazine maya say he hope that he can make musik another seven years. I think that the "fans" who write bad thinks about maya and aiji they aren't right fans.
I hope they make a lot of music in the next years.
(sorry for my bad english....=( )

Re: Recent Observations of LM.C
I think LM.C is trying new styles.
His songs do not reflect all the ugly things I've read.
If you have the opportunity to change and the tools to do it, why not?
I love Dolce Vitter and by what I read in your tweets Aiji is excited about the new album.
As for privacy. I think Maya has a right to be upset with the idiots who post about him. As you see, has never liked to be exposed and must be very annoying to read lies about one.
If your relationship with Rina is real, both are adults, though I see it more as a kind of advertising for both bands.
In addition they are not the most "old" and the years give experience.
LM.C is when we need it, now they need us and we must show that we are here, who really support their music. Those who truly love their music.
And finally with other bands we have seen that Japanese fans are pretty bad fans ...
[I apologize for my English ...]

Re: Recent Observations of LM.C
Kei, thanks again for putting the proper words on my thoughts ^^
I haven't read about this tweets "your music is pure shit". Of course we have things we don't like but we don't feel the need to insult the author and mention him. WTF²
As fans, we have our favorite songs, and some we like less, maybe some we don't like at all, but is it really necessary to tell them it's shit? It's not shit, you don't like them. It's a matter of taste.
I hate people who think they have universal good taste and look down on true fans thinking they are music critics.
I don't even call them fans. A fan may be able to review their music (what is good, what is less good) -or not- but a fan won't say "it's shit'.
About the Rina thing
When I heard about it, at first I didn't know if I should be very happy for him (he seems to long for a relationship) or just ignore a fake information.
I think maya is very reserved about himself and his personnal life. Everyone who observed him well can guess.
Just look at his face when he needs to talk in front of a bunch of people, or his embarrassed laugh when someone asks personal questions.
He should have been really affected to see his -true or fake- relation exposed that way.
What the ones who launched the rumor did is disgusting.

Re: Recent Observations of LM.C
Maybe people got mad about the rumour with Rina because Maya is around 10 years older than her I think? And they think it's a problem because of the age gap and-
okay I don't even know of a possibility why people left the fandom because of a rumour (/T__T)/
Oh god did people really tweet that?! WHY!? They won't get anything out of insulting them!
I agree with Hika-chan! Everyone has the songs they like and don't like because not every song sounds the same!!! Why don't people understand that?

Re: Recent Observations of LM.C
I just... love this fandom! :3 I'm impressed how open fans can talk about their thoughts and how respectful everybody is. (just needed to say that) For me that's one of the aspects which makes LM.C special for me.
I'm just a fan for approx. 2 years, but I give my best to be a "good" fan and to support them. Listening to LM.C marked a new phase in my life: the phase between child and adult and that's why I really like it that LM.C decided change their image a bit and to become a more adult-like band.
I don't think that the people behind the music are unimportant and I was so flashed when I saw maya and Aiji for the first time, 'cause they seemed to be so strong. It was such an impressive situation that I wanted to become strong, too and I'm still working on myself.
Everybody has got problems from time to time because people not always accept your way of living, especially when it is different from mainstream. I think maya and Aiji are professional and don't let such shitstorms to close to their mind. Though they might think about it, but I think they still know that there are lots of fans who still like them and always will.
It is not easy to find english words to describe my thoughts. I hope everything is understandable :D

Re: Recent Observations of LM.C
Wow.. Until reading all those posts I really didn’t know that there was so much going on! I never even considered it to be possible that there are “fans” saying all those cruel things. Especially with LM.C fans I always felt that they are really open-minded and friendly, so I’m very shocked that there are some people who post such bullshit. Hopefully, they don’t pay too much attention to those people and they still rely on all their true fans who love them.
All of their songs are brilliant to me, the older ones and the new ones. I think it’s always so interesting to get to know a new side of them. It’s like growing up with the band. How can people not catch that?
Of course they have the right to have their privacy and I think it must be somehow exhausting if people try to force some info out of you or tell many lies about you. But on the other hand, I agree that as fans, we feel such a deep connection with the two that of course we want to know something about them. As it was already said, they are like close friends/family because they share so much of themselves with us through their music. I hope those stupid people don’t keep them from sharing some parts of their lives with us!!
I’m soo very much looking forward to their new album and I hope we can make them feel our love and support!
