Need a ride to A-CEN to see LM.C?

4 of us and 2 of you. 3 drivers.
People are.. surprisingly uninterested. o^o

That is suprising...I mean a chance to take a road trip to see LM.C with the MAD Family and this is all the response??? shock well anyway,....yeah...Thank-you for looking into the parking! I used to live in Chicago but that was a long time ago and we were inner-city so this area is new to me too! As for food, I don't know either. We have a lot of options there... ^.^

Maybe everyone going should make a list of a couple of things they'd like to eat? Maybe their favourite snack or things that can be made easily?

(I'm not even in America, but yeah... random helpful idea~)

well, I'm pretty new, but if you need another driver, I live just downstairs from PURPLESHORTS, so... *insert cute puppy-eyed smile* I'm also used to driving long distances, traveling back and forth from maine, new mexico, and alabama hehe...

only problem is I get the feeling it would be a bunch of girls, so... I dunno if you'd want me there XD

cool cool ^_^ I'll have to see what I can figure out with my professors, since that is the weekend before finals week... I'll try to get things rescheduled asap :D

also, most RVs have a small kitchen and a microwave, so it shouldn't be hard to cook things if we bring a pot or two, so that should help a lil bit in the snack area ^.^ maybe just buy some random food when we have a stop...

so since its starting from Cali, how many people are there & how many drivers from Cali?

also, when do we leave from A-Cen?

@nicole, We have 3 (maybe 4) in CA. 2 of them, including you, can drive. The other is a friend, so she'll be driving for a while first. ^^
Leave FROM A-cen? probably.. Sunday afternoon. We could leave in the morning, though, depending on what everyone wants to do. :)

I know for me, it would definitely be easier to leave on Sunday, because I have a trip like literally a day or two after I'd be getting back here >.< gonna be visiting my family between the spring and summer semesters, blah... Oh, and most of my instructors said it was too early to talk to them about rescheduling my finals :/ so I'll have to get back to you on that... but they said it should be okay if nothing crazy happens lol

Hey guys unfortunately I won't be able to go with you guys on the road trip, sorry.... My Japanese teacher is very very strict with attendance, and if I miss more than 2 classes, she'll drop me...and I've already missed once for an important matter.

I don't want to miss LM.C, so I'll be going to A-Cen by plane, so hope to see you guys there

Once again, sorry for taking my time responding.
I end up getting caught up on thinking of how to respond, and then before I know it a week or two has passed! It's a bad habit.

@nicole, I'm sorry to hear you won't be joining us! But I understand your circumstances. Getting kicked out of your class would be really bad. So yeah, I hope we'll see each other at ACen!!

Heyyy, guys. there have been some big, big changes in the plan!
The RV isn't an option anymore, so we're going by car/bus.
Don't get scared, okay. lol

From CA -> TX we'll be in a car.
From TX -> IL, we'll be going by bus.

The bus is a straight drive through to Chicago, so it should be faster.
and just generally easier on all of us, I think.

The plan is to depart from CA on Sunday, April 22nd.
It should be a 20 hour (est.) drive from CA to TX.
and seeing as our only two current, ( and probably ONLY), passengers are in NM, you'll only be in a car for a few hours, hm.
you can expect to be picked up maybe sometime on Tuesday, the 24th. (this date might change)
If we get to your house at 4am, we get there at 4am!!
there's no way around it, okay!!

We'll call you ahead of time, though, as we get closer to your city and home.
the first call will probably be when we're around 2 hours away.
we'll call again when 1 hour away,
and then when we're 20 minutes away or so, we'll call you and tell you to be ready.
but seriously, make sure your phone is charged up and everything so you don't miss our calls.
we'll pound on your door until you answer,
even if it is 5am. and you didn't answer because you were asleep.

anyway, once we get to TX, we'll pick up the last person.
aka myself. I'll provide you all with coffee and tea, whatever your drug may be, and we'll head to the bus station.
The bus drive should be another 20 hours,
there are only a few stops along the way.
Once we get to Chicago, we'll head to where we'll be staying.
It will be either a hotel, or a friend of my brothers home.
I'm waiting for him to get back to me with that info.
anyway, we should be arriving on Thursday, the 26th.
plenty of time to get settled, get our con badges, and maybe even explore the city a little bit.

i cannot miss that many days of class or i will fail! is there anyway to leave in the middle of the week instead of the beginning? i REALLY want to go but i also don't want to lose all my scholarships!

Probably, there is, yes.
The three things most up in the air are when we are leaving, returning, and where we're staying.
If we left on Wednesday, we'd be cutting it pretty close, but I guess we could probably do it..
I'm pretty bad at math, but If I did this right,
if we left CA at 8am (wed.), we'd arrive in your area around 9pm (Wed.), then arrive in my town at either 5 or 6am (Thurs.)
then catch whatever bus is running that morning, arriving in Chicago at 1 - 4am (Fri.) or so. giving it some wiggle room.
I don't actually know WHEN the bus runs though, I just know there is one. I got that info through my brother, and I'll check back with him and ask him if it could actually work this way.
Again, cutting it pretty close, but we could do it.

You should also take into account when we return, though.
We'll probably need to leave Sunday morning to get you back on time, hm.

this new setup sounds like it will probably be a pretty expensive venture :/ seeing as I'm getting an apartment at the beginning of may and then having a trip right after that, I won't have too much monies for a con >.< do you by chance have any sort of estimate for this plan?
